Extraction Method: Cold pressed
Extracted From: Peel of the fruit
Aromatherapy Properties: Lemon is a familiar and favorite aromatherapy scent. It is energizing and uplifting.
Suggested Use: Lemon is a bright citrus top note in perfumery. It is also great to add to cleaning recipes to give fresh deodorization. Zesty and revitalizing, some people diffuse lemon during sniffly nose season to help give the body’s systems a boost. Topically, lemon offers astringent and cleansing qualities. Avoid topical use with sun exposure and dilute to 2% in a carrier oil. This equals about 10 drops of essential oil per ounce of carrier oil like sweet almond or coconut.
History: The history of lemons can be seen as far back as the time of Ancient Rome. In the 1500s seaman learned to supplement their diet with lemon juice, high in vitamin C, to avoid suffering from Scurvy, vitamin C deficiency.
Specific Safety Information: Not for internal use. Avoid topical use with sun exposure, which can cause phototoxicity. Lemon oil is light and evaporates quickly; avoid exposure to air. Oxidized oil can cause skin irritation. Certain essential oils may be contraindicated with certain medical conditions. Ask your doctor if you have any questions before use.
